INGREDIENTS

  • 16 apples
  • 4 tbsp lemons
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 freezer
  • 1 spoon
  • 1 squeezer
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 Dutch oven
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 lid
  • 4 containers

STEPS

Peel apples with a peeler.


Slice peeled apples thinly.


Squeeze lemons with a squeezer.


Combine sliced apples with lemon juice in a bowl with a spoon to get an apple mixture.


Add granulated sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, salt, and 8 cups of water in a dutch oven. Mix with a wooden spoon, add the apple mixture and cook for 2 minutes. Take it out of the oven, cover with a lid, put it back and cook on low heat for 8 minutes. Next, turn off the heat and let the mixture sit for 30 minutes before serving.


Divide cooked apples into containers, cover them with lids, then set aside for 90 minutes to rest. Put containers in the freezer for 15 minutes to chill.
