INGREDIENTS

  • 0.4 oz cooking spray
  • three quarters cup butter
  • 1.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.25 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cup couscous
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • half lemons

TOOLS

  • 1 oven
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 baking pan
  • 1 squeezer
  • 1 platter
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 saucepan

STEPS

Squeeze lemons using a squeezer to get lemon juice.

Put the butter in a saucepan and heat it until it is melted. Set the saucepan aside.

Put three quarters cup of granulated sugar in a bowl. Add buttermilk to the bowl. Whisk the contents of the bowl using a whisk.

Put couscous in a second bowl and add vanilla extract, baking powder, and baking soda to it. Mix the contents of the second bowl using a wooden spoon to get a couscous mixture.

Transfer the couscous mixture to a bowl. Mix the bowl using a whisk. Transfer the melted butter to that bowl. Whisk the bowl for 2 minutes to get a batter.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Spray baking pan using cooking spray, transfer batter to baking pan then put it in hot oven. Bake for 20 minutes.

Heat the second saucepan and pour 1 cup of water in it. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar to it, as well as lemon juice. High heat the mixture while stirring with a wooden spoon for 5 minutes, then lower to low heat and continue stirring constantly for 20 minutes. Finally, turn off the heat on the second saucepan to get a lemon syrup.

Drizzle lemons syrup over a baking pan, set aside the baking pan for 15 minutes, and transfer the baking pan to a platter.

It’s ready to be served !
