INGREDIENTS

  • 7 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • ½ oz cooking spray

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 cup
  • 1 microwave
  • 1 brusher
  • 1 knife
  • 2 spoons
  • 1 plastic wrap
  • 1 clean towel

STEPS

Put 2 cups of warm water in a bowl. Add sourdough starter and 4 cups of all-purpose flour to the bowl. Mix the contents of the bowl with a spoon and cover with plastic wrap, then set aside in a warm place for 12 hours. Remove the plastic wrap, add in 1 cup of all-purpose flour at a time mixing after each addition until you have added 3 cups of flour in total. Add salt and sugar, then knead for 2 minutes, and cover the dough with a clean towel.


Punch and knead the dough to get a round shape.


Preheat the oven to 400°F for 12-15 minutes.


Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and transfer the dough to it. Cover the dough with a clean towel and set aside for 60 minutes. Remove the towel to get a white bread dough.


Combine half a cup of water and cornstarch in a cup with a spoon. Put the cup in the microwave and heat for 1 minute.


Cut the dough top into slashes.


Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.


Take the baking sheet out of the oven and brush it with the corn starch mixture with a brusher.


Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25 minutes to get white bread.


Bake the white bread for 120 minutes to get sourdough bread.
